All About LoaKai🌺

In the summer of 2021, with my husband deployed to Qatar for the military, I spent countless hours at waterparks with my kids. The intense sun made me realize I needed a good pair of boardshorts to protect myself from harmful UV rays and sunburn. Despite searching online for almost two weeks, I couldn’t find anything suitable for women. The closest options were men’s boardshorts, which still didn’t provide adequate protection. That’s when I made it my mission to create boardshorts specifically for women and girls.

LoaKai boardshorts are named after my daughter Kai, who has always been my inspiration. Despite being told at a young age that she would never play sports, Kai defied all expectations. She has excelled in competitive dance, tumbling, and now plays PGA Jr Major Golf. Kai’s perseverance and determination taught me to push forward and never stop until I’m proud. She is the heart of LoaKai, and her spirit drives our mission. Kai also helps create our handmade bracelets and is learning the ropes of entrepreneurship for her future endeavors.

Our boardshorts are made with 90% recycled polyester and 10% spandex, providing peace of mind with Sun-Safe UPF 50+ protection that blocks harmful UVA and UVB rays. The 4-way stretch fabric ensures a lightweight, relaxed, and comfortable fit with quick-dry properties. When designing these boardshorts, I made sure they were perfect for women and girls, adding extra velcro for the fly closure to make them easy to put on and take off. No more struggles—just effortless comfort.
